The view from . . . Beijing -- my WFMT reflections on "Chinese Freedoms"

My "Critic's Choice" essay "Chinese Freedoms" [that's the link] on 98.7WFMT Radio Chicago and wfmt.com this week as I try to put together my competing impressions of my trip to China with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra last week -- my first to Mainland China since 1985.
